Dr. Harold Rhoades, Director

Dr. Harold Rhoades is a Counseling Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in private practice, teaching, consulting, and retreat work. His clientele includes individuals, marriages and families, adolescents and children, churches and ministry organizations.
After completing a BA in History at Oklahoma State University, Dr. Rhoades served in the United States Army as an Intelligence Officer, then returned to school to complete an MA and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and later an MA in Biblical Studies at Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Dr. Rhoades moved to Franklin County, Georgia in 1995 in order to continue his private practice and build the psychology program at Emmanuel College where he served as Division Head for five years and Associate Professor for a total of seven years. After going into full time private practice, he served as and adjunct professor teaching classes in spiritual formation and pastoral care and counseling. Previously, he had served as Visiting Professor at Regent University serving as director of the marriage and family counseling tract and teaching graduate‐level counselors.
Most recently, Dr. Rhoades has realized the dream started in 1968 by opening Healing Springs Retreat Ministry in Franklin Springs, Georgia, in which he serves as Founder and Director. Retreatants can spend time in personal and spiritual reflection, communing with nature, meet with Dr. Rhoades for personal, spiritual, marital, or family counseling and guidance.
